Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide in-home rehabilitation services to older adults in Big Spring and surrounding areas. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you'll help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through personalized therapeutic interventions in their homes or independent living facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans under OT supervision
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve:
  • Activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Motor skills and mobility
  • Home safety and community reintegration
  • Train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation team members
  • Travel to patients' homes throughout the service area

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree from an accredited OTA program
  • Licensure: Valid COTA license (or eligibility)
  • Experience: Prior home health or geriatric experience preferred
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of ADLs, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic techniques
    • Experience with falls risk management and cognitive rehabilitation
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication and patient education abilities
    • Excellent time management and teamwork skills
