Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Position Details
Provides skilled occupational therapy services to patients in their homes under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, following the established plan of care. Helps patients improve independence, safety, and functional performance in daily activities while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy interventions in the home health setting as delegated by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Document patient treatments, progress, and responses accurately and in a timely manner according to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety to support independence.
- Communicate patient progress and collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the development of safe, effective therapy services.
- Foster positive patient and family relationships through professional, compassionate, and respectful care.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state regulations, professional standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
- Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Offer
- Must be licensed or be eligible for licensure as a COTA in the state of Minnesota
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance; ability to travel in all weather conditions
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism and confidentiality
- Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Pass a background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Work Schedule
- Day Shift- 8am-4:30pm
- Casual or Roster Status
