Job Description
Busy, local construction company is looking for a Certified Payroll Specialist to add to their team! This payroll specialist be responsible for managing the entire payroll process. Below are some of the functions this payroll specialist will perform:Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll accurately and efficiently for approximately 35 to 40 employees
- Process Certified Payroll, including weekly report, fringe benefits and training fund contribution to the DIR website
- Administration of the employee 401k retirement benefits through Principal along with employees medical, dental and vision benefits
- Complete EDD unemployment requests
- Process employees leave paperwork and requests for time off
- Coordinate between payroll, HR and other departments
- Prepare detail reports, overtime, leave balances, head count and retirement contribution plans
- Verifies and submits temporary employee timesheets to staffing agency
- Associates degree in business administration/finance required, accounting degree is preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in all payroll functions, 3 years additional payroll office experience in lieu of associates degree
- Knowledge of payroll principles and practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and eCPR tracker
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
