Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Indian Health Clinic- 703 NE Hancock St., Portland, OR 97212 &
Wellness Center- 12360 E Burnside St., Portland, OR 97233
Schedule: This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 8:30am- 5:00pm. Participation in a rotating late clinic schedule is required, with occasional Friday shifts extending until 7:00pm.
Wage Range: $24.00 - $29.00 hourly, non-exempt

Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The pharmacy technician supports the efficient operation of the pharmacy by performing technical duties under pharmacist supervision and pharmacy leadership, with commitment to providing culturally responsive care to Native American and lower-income populations served by NARA NW. This position travels between clinic sites as needed.
What you will do:
- Under the supervision of Pharmacist on duty, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with State, Federal and Company policies.
- Mastering Athena, PioneerRx, ScriptPro, MiniMedBank, RapidPak and Medsense
- Extreme multi-tasking and pharmacy calculation
- Provide excellent customer service skills and assistance to patients regarding prescriptions and pharmacy related services.
- Enter prescription orders in PioneerRx, Fill and Maintain ScriptPro Automation Machine,
- Run PioneerRx Point of Sale system.
- Understand how to separate 340B and non 340B drug inventory systems, hazardous vs nonhazardous drugs.
- Manage patient demographics in pharmacy software system. Including creation of patient profile and insurance information in computer and/or update patient's profile.
- Report prescription errors to pharmacist in compliance with departmental policy and Quality Improvement process
- Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
- Assure and verify that all prescriptions are given to the correct patients.
- Complete Residential medication orders, place orders on shelves, and verify all associated paperwork
