GeneralSummaryofDuties
SurgicalTechnologists,alsoknownasScrubTechnologists,SurgicalTechnicians,orOperatingRoomTechnicians,assistinsurgicalproceduresunderthedirectionandsupervisionofsurgeons,registerednurses,andothersurgicalpersonnel.
As a vital member of the operating room team, the Surgical Technologist helps ensure a safe, efficient,andsterileenvironmentbefore,during,andaftersurgicalprocedures.Operatingroomteamscommonlyincludesurgeons,anesthesiologists,CRNAs,registerednurses,andsurgicaltechnologistsworkingcollaborativelytoprovideexceptionalpatientcare.
Education,Experience&Requirements
Required
- GraduateofanaccreditedSurgicalTechnologistprogram.
- CurrentCertifiedSurgicalTechnologist(CST)certification,asrequiredbystateregulations.
- Individualswhoqualifyunderapplicablestategrandfatheringprovisionsmaybeexemptfromcertificationrequirements.
- CurrentBasicLifeSupport(BLS)certification.
Preferred
- One(1)totwo(2)yearsofclinicalexperienceinanoperatingroomsetting.
- Candidateswithzero(0)totwo(2)yearsofrelatedclinicalexperiencemaybeconsidered.
