- Create individualized recreation plans based on patient needs
- Adapt activities to accommodate various physical and mental health requirements
- Maintain and update therapeutic recreation programs
- Evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes
- Conduct comprehensive recreational therapy assessments for new admissions
- Provide individual and group therapeutic activities
- Document patient participation and progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment team
- Monitor patient engagement and therapeutic benefits
- Maintain therapeutic equipment and supplies
- Ensure safe and appropriate use of recreational facilities
- Track program outcomes and effectiveness
- Coordinate special therapeutic events and activities
- Manage activity schedules and resources
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
- Active CTRS certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC) certification.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Physical ability to lead activities
- Master's degree in Recreational Therapy
- Experience in behavioral health setting
- Background working with children/adolescents/adults
- Knowledge of psychiatric care principles
- Crisis intervention training
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Cultural competency
