Job Description

About the role

We're looking for a Campus Ambassador to help students on campus learn who is on their November ballot. Change.org runs Change.vote, a ballot guide that shows voters the candidates on their ballot, along with their policy positions and endorsements. Your job is to make sure students on your campus know it exists and use it before Election Day, November 3, 2026.

You'll reach students through the channels that already work on your campus, including but not limited to clubs, campus-wide communications, tabling, relational organizing (talking to your own networks); whatever gets results where you are. We won't prescribe one playbook; we're giving you a goal and will empower you to get there.

Goals: Become the outreach manager for Change.vote on your campus

  • Reach as many of your fellow students as you can before Election Day

  • Create and recruit others for user-generated content on Change.vote and its social platforms

  • Give feedback to Change.vote staff about what's working on your campus

What you'll do

  • Build relationships with student clubs, orgs, and campus communications channels to spread the word about Change.vote

  • Table at high-traffic spots (dining halls, quads, campus events) to talk with students directly

  • Run relational organizing, asking students to bring their own friends and networks into the conversation

  • Track your outreach pitches and results and report back so we can help you troubleshoot what's working and what isn't

  • Adapt your approach as you learn what actually lands on your campus

Commitment

Period

Hours | week

September 21 - Oct 4 | 5 hours

October 5 - November 3 | 10-12 hours

We expect roughly 55 hours total over the two months, with flexibility in the hours to fit in your class schedule and other commitments.

What we provide

  • Training and ongoing coaching on tactics, messaging, and troubleshooting

  • You'll be part of a cohort of Change.vote campus ambassadors across our two states

  • Materials, talking points, and campus-vote tools you can adapt to what works locally

  • A direct line to our team for support, not a script to follow blindly

Who this is for

This is a great fit if you want real civic engagement experience like organizing, communications, relationship-building, without working for a candidate or campaign. It's nonpartisan work: you're helping students find accurate information about their ballot, not telling them how to vote.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is plugged into their campus community (or eager to get plugged in)

  • Is comfortable talking to strangers and building relationships

  • Can work independently and adapt tactics without needing a rigid script

  • Cares about voter turnout and access to information, regardless of party

Compensation

$1500 Stipend paid in two installments. Cost coverage for printed materials or tabling fees associated with outreach.
