The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity for a Psychiatrist within the Montana State Hospital.

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital / Intensive Behavior Center.

Delivering and coordinating holistic care, encompassing the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of each individual from admission through discharge. This position will liaison with the DPHHS Office of Faith and Community Based Services on resources and faith-based organizations. Chaplains collaborate with a diverse team of faith leaders and volunteers to ensure that every admitted person has the opportunity to receive spiritual and religious support tailed to their personal beliefs and preferences. This approach underscores the DPHHS's commitment to honoring individual's entire being providing comfort, guidance, and a sense of peace during their in care.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

  • Candidate would be required to spend four days a week at the Montana State Hospital (Warm Springs, MT) and one day a week at the Intensive Behavior Center (Boulder, MT)

  • Must have a valid driver license to travel between facilities with own vehicle.

  • Ability to flex time to be available for weekend coverage if needed.

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree of religious studies or social services

  • 2-years related work experience

  • Association of professional chaplains / board of chaplaincy certification preferred

  • Other combinations of education and experience considered on a case by case basis.
