| Job Description: | Job DescriptionSame as VMI tech, but with heavy focus on chemicals.Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8 am- 4:30 pmWhat were looking forEducation:High school diploma or GED is requiredExperience: 2+ years of experience in inventory control, procurement, materials management, or related operations within a laboratory, production, or warehouse environmentCollaboration Tool: Microsoft OfficeBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; Be able to use Excel reportsMust be able to lift to 50lbsPrevious experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desiredStrong communication skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesValid driver's license and reliable form of transportation are requiredInventory control principles and best practicesMaterials management in laboratory or regulated production environmentsHazardous material handling and shipping requirementsInventory and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, VWR+,ChemSW, Citrix, or similar platforms)Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance requirementsInventory investigation and discrepancy resolutionData analysis and interpretationDocumentation and record managementClear, professional communication with internal and customer stakeholdersTime management and prioritizationHow you will thrive and create an impactAvantors Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.In this role you will:Independently manage inventory and material handling activities for consumables, chemicals, samples, and other critical materials.Execute inventory control processes including receiving, storage, handling, distribution, and inventory movement.Conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.Perform purchasing and procurement transactions including order entry,expediting, and invoice resolution.Handle hazardous materials and prepare shipping documentation in compliance with regulations.Analyze inventory data toidentifytrends, root causes, and corrective actions.Lab SupportCommunicate findings, resolutions, and recommendations to internal and customer stakeholders. |
| Skills/Experience: | Job DescriptionExecutes day-to-day inventory & material management tasks at customer facilities, following a varied set of procedures. Tasks include the management and processing (storage, handling, inventory control and distribution) of critical materials used in laboratory and production environments, such as consumables, chemicals, solvents and reagents. Problems and issues are typically less concrete and frequently changing, like unexpected shortages of critical consumables due to supplier delays, differences between recorded inventory levels and actual stock, requiring an investigation into miscounts, misplaced items, or data entry errors, or expired chemicals or reagents that were not properly rotated, leading to waste and requiring adjustments to storage protocols. Problems and issues are solved by applying experience from comparable situations in the past and/or selecting solutions within known alternatives. Communicates inventory related information, activity records, service level metrics and other information requiring explanation or interpretation to team members, supervisors or customers. |
