If so, this could be a meaningful next step in your career.Our client, Second Helpings, is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization during a critical time for the communities it serves. Based in Central Indiana, Second Helpings is a community kitchen that prepares and delivers more than 1 million meals each year while providing culinary job training and rescuing food to reduce waste and hunger. Second Helpings is well known in the community for its deep roots, bold mission, and commitment to dignity, equity, and impact.In this role, the CEO will provide overall leadership and direction for the organization, with particular emphasis on short and long-term strategy, finance, fundraising, capacity building, and board relations. The CEO will advocate for Second Helpings and strengthen partnerships across the nonprofit, government, business, and philanthropic sectors. The CEO will shepherd the organization toward attaining its goal of doubling its reach and ability to serve the Central Indiana community.Why Join Second Helpings:

- Build and lead a high‑performing senior leadership team that can scale impact, navigate change, and advance Second Helpings’ mission.
- Lead and inspire a shared vision to a senior leadership team, staff, volunteers, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Coach the team and ensure accountability and strategic alignment across core functions.
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to implement vision, strategy, and long-term direction.
- Partner with the Board of Directors on effective governance, including policy development, meeting preparation, and ongoing board engagement and development.
- Ensure operations and initiatives align with the strategic plan and organizational values.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and sustainable culture for staff and volunteers.
- Ensure effective people-centered systems, performance management, and organizational structures that support staff success and mission impact.
- Manage financial oversight and all funding streams including major donors, grants, and in-kind donations.
- Lead the development of annual operating plans and budgets aligned with long-term strategy, presenting recommendations to the Board for approval.
- Serve as a fundraiser, ambassador, and advocate for Second Helpings.
- Maintain and grow relationships with donors while cultivating new funding sources.
- Work with the Board, staff, and volunteers to strengthen fundraising strategy and execution.
- Act as the organization’s public champion, engaging with media, community leaders, and partners.
- Build credibility and trust across diverse audiences through exceptional communication and presence.
- Strengthen and expand relationships throughout the hunger relief and nonprofit ecosystem.
- Collaborate with community decision-makers, government entities, nonprofits, and businesses.
- Promote Second Helpings’ mission, impact, and brand locally and beyond Indiana.
- Champion innovation while honoring the organization’s legacy and values.
- A compelling executive leader with a passion for ending hunger and advancing community impact.
- Demonstrated success in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and board collaboration.
