Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving clinical standards to ensure quality and safety outcomes across all clinical care sites, including appropriate review of all clinical policies and procedures on a regular basis. (30%)
  • Functions as Clinical Laboratory Director for GLBHC sites and Clinical Director for Physical Therapy, ensuring compliance, quality, and continuous improvement in clinical operations and patient care standards. (5%)
  • Clinical duties on a mutually agreeable schedule. (5%)
  • Responsible for assuring that all annual provider performance reviews are completed in a timely fashion and accurately reflect performance through the monitoring and analysis of productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction data. (15%)
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of appropriate privileging standards in conjunction with clinical and department leadership. Responsible for developing and mentoring clinical leaders. (10%)
  • Chairs provider leadership and all-provider meetings, attends executive team and other in-house and external meetings assigned by President/CEO and functions as liaison between providers and administration, as necessary. Functions as liaison with external organizations. (10%)
  • Maintains relationship with GLBHC Board of Directors by attending meetings and submitting reports as appropriate. Serves as Co-Chair of the Policy and Quality Committee and participates as a member of the Corporate Compliance and Risk Management Committee to ensure oversight of clinical quality and compliance. (5%)
  • Responsible for the review of managed care performance data and implementation of corrective action as needed. Participates in the review of value-based care contracts and recommends appropriate quality-based incentive measures. Attends meetings with outside entities as appropriate. (10%)
  • Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning and needs assessment activities/Recruitment and Retention. Recommend strategic planning goals for clinical, quality & patient care, and ensure appropriate number and quality of clinical staff. (10%)

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned by President and Chief Executive Officer

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited Medical School, with the ability to provide verification of credentials.
  • Licensure: Must be licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine and surgery in Michigan. You must possess a valid DEA license. Board Certification required. Must possess an up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate.
  • Experience: Five (5) years community health center or similar setting as provider preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various population.
  • Physical Effort: Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for an entire workday. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Hours of Work: Full-time; Flexible and varied. On-call as required by clinical and administrative duties.
  • Travel: Some travel between sites required. Travel may be required to attend pertinent conferences; with travel, lodging, and living costs reimbursed at the existing rate of the corporation. Reimbursement for expenses will occur in accordance with GLBHC policy.
