Job Summary
Hospice of South Texas (HOST) is seeking an experienced Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead hospice clinical operations and quality initiatives. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for interdisciplinary teams while ensuring exceptional patient care and regulatory compliance.
This position is well-suited for hospital, home health, SNF, or hospice clinical leaders seeking a mission-driven leadership opportunity. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Essential Functions
- Provide leadership and oversight of hospice clinical operations
- Ensure compliance with CMS, CHAP, and state regulations
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes
- Mentor and support clinical managers and interdisciplinary staff
- Oversee clinical documentation, care planning, and patient satisfaction
- Partner with executive leadership to support organizational growth
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active RN license (Texas or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 5 years RN experience with leadership background
- Experience in healthcare settings such as hospice, home health, hospital, SNF, or post-acute care
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality standards
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage change
Preferred
- Hospice or home health experience
Regulatory survey experience
Candidates with strong leadership experience in adjacent healthcare settings are encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
- Full-time
- Primarily weekday schedule
- Leadership on-call rotation as required
- Office-based with occasional patient visits

Sign-On Bonus & Retention Incentive
Hospice of South Texas offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid quarterly over the first year of employment and contingent upon continued employment and satisfactory performance.
