Job Description

To support its thriving clinical service, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a full-time Chief of Clinical Pathology.

We perform over 3 million tests annually and have a growing outreach program. Tufts Medical Center is an internationally respected, 400-bed, tertiary care academic medical center located in downtown Boston, adjacent to the Tufts University School of Medicine and a proud member of the Tufts Medicine Healthcare System.

How you'll transform patient care:

  • Lead the professional, technical, and administrative operations of the clinical laboratories in close collaboration with the Chair and Director of Clinical Operations.

  • Provide strategic oversight across a comprehensive range of services, including chemistry, toxicology, mass spectrometry, immunology, hematology, coagulation, flow cytometry, microbiology, transfusion medicine and apheresis, molecular diagnostics, and HLA.

  • Advance patient care and innovation through ample opportunities and institutional support for clinical, translational, and basic science research.

  • You'll qualify for an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Who you are:

  • Possess an MD or equivalent degree and be eligible to obtain a medical license in the of Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • Board certified in CP or AP/CP.

  • Proven leadership skills and considerable experience in the administrative, teaching, and clinical activities of an academic department of laboratory medicine.

  • Expertise in HLA with ASHI certification and/or Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine, with prior leadership experience in either domain strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in directing one or more clinical laboratory disciplines, with several years of progressive responsibility.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $367,975.00 to $400,887.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
