The HP Legal Litigation, Employment, Ethics & Compliance organization is seeking a Chief of Staff who will directly report to the Chief Ethical and Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President for Litigation, Employment, Ethics & Compliance.
The Chief of Staff is a strategic, solutions ‑oriented partner who helps shape and execute legal and enterprise priorities. Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this role drives operational excellence, alignment, and cross functional‑functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self starter who brings strong strategic planning and change‑starter who brings strong strategic planning and change management‑management skills. They will be responsible for designing and implementing processes that enhance organizational effectiveness across the Litigation, Employment, and Ethics & Compliance organization and Legal. They will also play a key role in building and sustaining team culture—championing engagement, inclusion, and connection through clear communication, team initiatives, and recognition.

Responsibilities
- Suggests strategic initiatives to improve workflow, teamwork, and budget management; recommends approaches for executing high level strategies and develops creative solutions.‑level strategies and develops creative solutions.
- Responsible for project management and assessments, including risk, cost, and work required to achieve outcomes, followed by facilitation and oversight.
- Drives coordination of all aspects of priority projects and makes recommendations for final team decisions.
- Helps ensure that decisions made by the Leadership Team are effectively carried out across the organization, tracking progress and resolving obstacles.
- Manages relationships with key stakeholders and assists with cross‑team dynamics by identifying and helping to resolve matters of concern.
- Comfortable communicating and interacting cross‑functionally at all levels, internally and externally, and navigating a complex, matrixed organization.
- Upholds team and legal priorities, fostering a positive and cohesive work environment that champions HP culture and values.
- Prepares internal and external communications, including speeches, presentations, and other materials, ensuring consistent organizational messaging.
- Partners closely with the Executive Assistant as the connective tissue of the executive office, aligning strategic priorities with day‑to‑day execution, workflows, leadership cadence, communications, and follow‑through.
- Oversees organizational meetings, including drafting and owning agendas (weekly leadership team, AEM, others) and leading meetings as needed.
- Effectively carries out day‑to‑day action items for senior leadership to increase speed of execution.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
Typically 10+ years total experience in strategy, planning, legal, operations, HR, finance, or related functional area. Experience serving as a Chief of Staff to a senior executive a plus.

Impact / Scope
- Leads multiple, high‑priority initiatives simultaneously, with direct impact across the Legal organization and the broader business.
- Exercises judgment on matters with enterprise‑level implications, influencing outcomes across multiple functions and business units.
- Acts as a force multiplier for the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer / DGC, enabling focus on the most critical strategic, legal, and enterprise priorities.
- Shapes organizational effectiveness by driving alignment, clarity, and execution across Litigation, Employment, and Ethics & Compliance.
Complexity
- Designs and directs approaches to address broad planning and execution needs within highly complex, interdependent functions.
- Recognized as a trusted expert in developing, integrating, and driving follow‑through on complex, multi‑workstream business plans.
- Develops and implements innovative approaches to improve planning, execution, and operational cadence across the organization.
The pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Benefits:
