If you are passionate about serving with purpose and authenticity while fostering trust, unity, and growth, we welcome you to join us on this meaningful journey.About the Role:The Child Care Worker provides supervision, guidance, and leadership for assigned children during after-school and summer programs. This role supports a safe, positive environment and may include additional duties as needed to meet program and departmental goals.This position reflects PCI’s core values of Perseverance, Opportunity, Accountability, Respect, Culture, and Honesty.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children ages 2–4.
  • Assist with basic needs, including toileting and diaper changes.
  • Support teachers with classroom activities and behavior management (BIP/IEP).
  • Supervise children during indoor/outdoor play, games, and learning activities.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain daily records (attendance, meals, diaper changes, incidents).
  • Help prepare weekly schedules and activity plans.
  • Maintain a clean, safe classroom and playground environment.
  • Communicate concerns to the Site Supervisor and complete other assigned duties.
Core Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have six (6) months of full-time employment experience working with young children.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines. 
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events. 
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully
Essential Competencies:
  • Comfortable assisting young children with toileting, diapering, and clothing changes.
  • Enjoys working with young children and building positive relationships.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and accountable for performance.
  • Energetic, motivated, and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform active childcare duties.
