Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Plan weekly menus that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to incorporate food education into the curriculum.
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure freshness and availability.
- Engage with children during meal times to promote healthy eating habits.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills.
- Ensure compliance with local health regulations and licensing requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in childcare or educational settings.
- Level one Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for young children.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor with children and staff.
- Food Handler's Certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Commitment to creating a positive and safe dining experience for children.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary requirements.
- Passion for cooking and a desire to inspire healthy eating habits in children.
- Capable of meeting physical demands of working in the kitchen.
