Children And Family Pastor
Description:Christ Church is seeking someone to help us guide, lead, and invite children into an understanding and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are looking for someone to grow, train and encourage a team of volunteers. We are seeking person to support, encourage and equip parents/guardians to disciple their children in their homes and someone to help us build relationships with children and their families, both inside and outside of the church, as we point them to Christ.
Qualifications:
- A living faith in Christ.
- Understanding and agreement with the Global Methodist doctrine and theology.
- Willingness to become connected with the Global Methodist Church in some capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferred.
- 3 years of paid or confirmed volunteer experience working with children and parents; preferably in church ministry.

- Administration, organization and coordination skills.
- Good communication skills; including communication with children, parents/guardians and volunteers.
- A team-player who helps the ministry of children and families fit into the ministry of the whole church.
- Someone who can recruit, train, encourage and support the volunteers.
- A teachable spirit and a willingness of continued learning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide vision, leadership and strategic direction for the children and family ministry.
- Develop and implement biblically sound and developmentally appropriate teachings that engage children and promote spiritual growth (Sunday morning children’s worship and Wednesday night small groups).
- Organize and lead special events throughout the year, including 4th/5th grade retreat, Christmas pageant, etc.
- Develop and implement resources/events to equip and encourage parents/guardians to be the primary discipler of their children.
- Track expenses and be a good steward of budgeted funds.
- Provide pastoral support to children and their families.
- Recruit, train and encourage volunteers.
- Supervision of nursery staff.
- Make sure that all children’s ministry volunteer and staff are compliant with our Ministry Safe policy.
- Maintain and manage communication with parents.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, and other areas of ministry in the life of the church.
Schedule: 20 hours per week. Sunday mornings year-round; Wednesday evenings according to local school schedules; occasional miscellaneous evenings/weekends as special services and events take place.
Salary Range: $17,000 to $20,000 based on qualifications and experience.
