Children’s Education Coordinator Assistant
RHD – Resiliency Manor for Families Philadelphia, PA
Are you passionate about working with children and supporting families during challenging times? Do you enjoy creating safe, creative, and engaging spaces where kids can learn and grow?
RHD’s Resiliency Manor for Families provides emergency housing for single women and their children. Our goal is to help families move quickly toward permanent housing while focusing on employment, education, health, and community connection.
We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and energetic Children’s Education Coordinator Assistant to help create positive, structured, and nurturing experiences for children staying in our program.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in making sure children have safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities while their families work toward stability.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Keep children’s spaces (Bright Spaces, Kidz Zone, Computer Lab, Art Room) clean, organized, and safe.
  • Plan and lead fun, structured activities and arts & crafts.
  • Supervise children during play and program times.
  • Monitor the Computer Lab during scheduled hours.
  • Administer the Ages & Stages Questionnaire for children ages 3–5.
  • Support parents by modeling positive parenting techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Program & Event Support:
  • Assist with donations and keep storage areas organized.
  • Help with special events and summer camp activities.
  • Support Parenting Class evenings (2 evenings per week) by supervising children.
  • Assist with shopping and event preparation.
  • Drive a company vehicle when needed.
Who You Are
You are calm, flexible, and passionate about supporting children and families. You understand that families in shelter settings may be experiencing stress and need patience, consistency, and compassion.
What We’re Looking For:
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children (birth–15 years old).
  • Knowledge of child development and appropriate parenting techniques.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced shelter environment.
  • Basic computer skills (email, documentation, data entry).
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Teaching experience is a plus!
