Job Description
A financial services organization is seeking a CIP/KYC Compliance Analyst to support customer identification, due diligence, quality control, and compliance oversight activities related to consumer financial products and payment programs.This role will focus on Customer Identification Program (CIP), Know Your Customer (KYC), due diligence reviews, quality assurance testing, and risk assessments to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience supporting financial crime compliance, onboarding, or operational risk functions.Key Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of CIP and KYC due diligence processes.
- Evaluate identity verification processes and controls to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement using a risk-based approach.
- Review customer onboarding and verification procedures and provide recommendations to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze due diligence documentation, program materials, and supporting records to determine applicability of CIP and KYC requirements.
- Perform quality control testing and sample reviews of completed CIP and KYC files.
- Assess compliance with internal standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify CIP and KYC risks associated with new products, services, business relationships, or program implementations.
- Review required customer identification and due diligence documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established standards.
- Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss findings, provide feedback, and support issue resolution.
- Prepare and maintain quality control and testing metrics for management reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, Risk, and business teams to recommend process enhancements and improve reporting capabilities.
- Research and assist in resolving CIP, KYC, and onboarding exceptions.
- Review and validate identity verification documentation and supporting records.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and reporting as needed.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance reviews across assigned programs and processes.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining procedures aligned with BSA, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act, and related regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks related to customer identification, onboarding, and financial crime compliance.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience supporting Compliance, AML, KYC, CIP, Operational Risk, Financial Crime, or related functions within a financial services environment.
- Working knowledge of Customer Identification Program (CIP), Know Your Customer (KYC), OFAC, BSA, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements.
- Experience performing quality control reviews, testing activities, or due diligence assessments preferred.
- Familiarity with identity verification tools, customer onboarding processes, and compliance-related technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to customer onboarding, financial crime compliance, and operational risk management activities.
