Job Description
The Gardiner Police Department is currently seeking candidates for an open Patrol Officer position.
The Police Department is currently accepting applications for an open patrol officer position. Starting pay is $26.78 (entry) to $38.88 (10-year step) depending on the candidate’s years of law enforcement experience before education or military stipend.Comprehensive Benefits Package: (includes but not limited to)
- Lateral hire up to 10 years’ (contractual top step) experience with vacation accrual adjustments.
- 80 hours of earned time upon hire.
- Anniversary bonus and longevity increases.
- Retirement after 25 years of service at 2/3 pay regardless of age.
- Physical fitness program/annual allowance.
- Continuing education reimbursement.
- Degree and/or Military stipends.
- Employee and family medical/dental/vision coverage.
- Monthly payout for employees using alternative health insurance provider.
- City funded health reimbursement account (HRA) @ $5,000 per single member or $10,000 per member w/dependent coverage.
- $650.00 annual clothing allowance.
- 12 paid holidays.
- Optional payouts for accrued compensatory/vacation time.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Maine driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days after employment start date.
- Must be in good physical condition and health.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation, medical evaluation and possibly a polygraph and psychological examination if warranted.
