Job Description

My client, is seeking a mid to senior-level professional to join our Midwest group. This position will offer the right person significant opportunities for leadership and growth in the regional market. In this role, the candidate will focus on technical work, project management, and business development. Previous consulting or environmental engineering related experience is highly preferable. Our environmental services group provides a wide range of professional consulting services to municipal, industrial, and commercial clients. Our projects range from planning and permitting to design, engineering and construction. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, embraces teamwork, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally. This position will be involved in managing, performing, and supporting project work as well as preparing proposals and developing business with key clients (seller / doer role). Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of professionals to assist our clients on a wide variety of engineering and environmental opportunities. It is anticipated these may include, but are not limited to: - Industrial by-product management, agri-business, and food security

  • Civil site design

  • Wastewater treatment

  • Environmental services, due diligence, and regulatory compliance

  • Stormwater management and permitting

  • Water resources, drainage, and erosion control

  • Slope stabilization

  • Site investigation / remediation

  • Solid waste management

  • Manage and lead technical work

  • Provide QC review for technical work

  • Draft and review proposals

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to undertake infrastructure projects related to planning, design, and construction.

  • Prepare technical reports, concept designs, construction specifications, construction drawings, and permit applications for approvals.

  • Liaise with clients and sub-consultants and ensure that the project’s/client’s needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated technical ability related to engineering design, permit applications, reports, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability related to preparing scope and fee estimates for project work.

  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, business development activities, etc. Occasional overnight travel will be required.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; time management skills.

  • Excellent client relation skills and be able to coordinate effectively with team members.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with AutoCAD, HELP modeling, and HydroCAD software will be an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering, geology or related field.

  • Minimum of six (6) years of previous experience in an engineering consulting environment.

  • Preferably two (2) years of project management experience coordinating and managing tasks and projects and interacting with clients and environmental regulatory agency contacts.

  • Professional registration (PE) or ability to obtain in 6 to 12 months, preferred. Expected to become licensed in MN and ND, at minimum.
