CONSULTANT SERVICES TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL STAFF
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Project Description: Metropolitan Transportation Authority New York City Transit
("NYCT”) Track Design and Specification.
2. Professional/Technical Title: Civil Engineer Intern
3. Duration of Service Required: 52 Weeks (on-ongoing)
4. Normal Work Week: Monday-Friday. 35 Hours/Week and as required. Normal work hours are 8:00am-4:00pm or 10:00pm to 6:00am. Some weekend work may be required.
5. No. of Paid Hours Per Week: 35-Hours
(NYCT does not pay for lunch hours.)

8. Work Location: Main office at MTA-NYCT's Maintenance of Way (MOW) Engineering,
Brooklyn, NY 11201.
9. Reports to: MTA Personnel – TBD.
10. Qualification Requirements: Four-year college degree in Civil Engineering or Railway Engineering.
11. Experience Requirements: None
12. Licensing Requirements: Valid Driver's License.
13. Special Skills/Training Requirements: The individual shall be able to walk for extended
periods on irregular surfaces (Tunnel Tracks, Yards, Elevated walkways) and adapt to its elements or environment (i.e. debris and grease, enclosed spaces, poor lighting, wet conditions, high noise level, pest, high elevations, etc.), climb and descend ladders, carry surveying equipment (20lbs) for at icast 1,500ft, work outside in summer and winter. Have Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
14. Description of Work: The individual will be required to support engineering activities within the Track Engineering office and will be expected to assist in design and construction of railway projects of varied size and complexity; mainly trackwork and track switches in accordance with NYCT standards and procedures. The Individual will be required to perform surveys using topographical instruments, drafts using CADD, design and write contract specifications and reports.
