Job Description

Impact Recruitment has partnered with a civil engineering firm in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. Our client is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Engineer / Project Manager, to join their Engineering Team. Job Responsibilities: Adheres to the Project Management Plan and ensures all who work on assigned projects adhere to the plan. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to create engineering and design documents. Calculates cost, determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data, and prepares detailed cost estimates. Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project. Meets with client periodically to coordinate changes, inform client of additional requirements, receive input from the client, answer client questions, and resolve issues. Coordinates project activity with appropriate officials, support staff, subcontractors, utilities, and other entities. Inspects construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards. Manages each project budget to ensure project stays on track and that company goals and objectives are met. Meets with Chief Operating Officer or Chief Financial Officer periodically to review progress and budgets of assigned projects. Attends meetings such as City Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and inspection meetings to provide/receive information on projects and local requirements. Keeps abreast of changing techniques, materials, codes, regulations and software through attendance at seminars, briefings and other forums and maintains professional certification. Makes marketing calls to existing and potential customers. Performs other duties as assigned. CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER • Strive for personal development in all areas of general management. • Set a positive example for the staff, delegate responsibility, exercise good judgment in decision making, and deal with conflict in an impartial and reasoned way. Qualifications & Experience: Experience: 7-10 or more years of professional-level experience, with progressively responsible positions covering a full scope of assignments in either civil engineering, land surveying, or planning. Licensure: Florida registration as a Civil Engineer (PE) Preferred Experience with budgeting and scheduling software Key Attributes: Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the company and Client. Must have knowledge of project management methods, contract management, project scheduling, and reporting, proposal writing, and human resources management. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail, especially with numbers and invoice reviews. Must be well organized with sound judgment and planning. A highly motivated individual with a willingness to pursue continual innovative improvements in processes. Must have strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
