We value teamwork, and we are looking for individuals who are collaborative and enjoy working in a team environment.Summary:Kapur is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Design Department Manager to manage and lead site design projects in various locations across Wisconsin. This position is based in Madison, WI, where you will play a critical role in continuing to grow our site design group and relationships with clients. This person will actively manage and design site design projects for both public and private clients as both prime and while working under an architect, but also assist with training/mentoring younger engineers, recruiting/hiring additional staff, oversee a group of 3-4 design engineers, oversee financials for the group, and perform business development activities with existing and new clients. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage our Site Design Group in Madison and oversee projects from initiation to completion.
  • Oversee department financial data and ensure high quality deliverables. 
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress to meet project objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, communicating project status and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with teams to coordinate project tasks and deliverables.
  • Confirm project compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify project risks and challenges.
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to clients.
  • Contribute to the design and engineering of roadway and structural projects.
  • Build client relations, prepare proposals, and bring in additional site design work.
  • Assist with recruitment and hiring of additional site design staff.
Skills:
  • Experience managing site design staff, overseeing financial performance, and delivering high quality civil and site design projects. 
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, attention to detail, high organizational skills, and enthusiasm for transportation projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service focus, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing client expectations.
  • Problem-solving abilities, especially in areas where documentation is limited or lacks standardization.
  • Proficient in engineering software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or other relevant tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.) and Document Control Management Software.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in civil site design and project management.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Wisconsin
