Job Description

Job Details

  • Freight: A mixture of dry and refrigerated no-touch, live unload grocery freight to store locations in VA, NC, MD, PA, and WV.
  • Shifts: Start times between noon and midnight, with weekends required. Work 5 days on, 2 days off, with more shifts becoming available upon increased tenure at account.
  • Routes: Drivers can expect to run approximately 1600-1700 miles per week. This will usually require 2 routes per working day (11-14 hour shift)
  • Home Daily!! 1 day of on-site training in which you'll receive $125 and 3-4 ride-alongs at $50 per ride along. 
  • Must have personal transportation to and from.
  • Equipment: Slip-seat operation in newer model day cabs.
  • Customer Service: Must prioritize safety, have exceptional customer service skills, and handle customer concerns with patience.

  • Industry-Leading Pay Package: Top-performing drivers can earn over $1500 per week.
  • Stop Pay: $20 per stop.
  • Minimum Mileage Pay: Shorter Routes will be paid out on Minimum pay band scale.
  • Support: Tenured 24/7 operations staff and shop support for drivers.
  • Part-Time Option: Part-time drivers can work 11-29 hours per week, with flexibility to choose shifts Friday through Sunday nights.
  • Vacation Eligibility: 1 week after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 weeks after 7 years, and 4 weeks after 10 years.

Pay Structure

  • Average Weekly Pay: Drivers working 5 on and 2 off with 1600 miles per week can expect approximately $1300 per week (after a 90-day ramp-up period with no attendance issues).

  • Experience-Based Pay

  • Sign-On Bonus (SOB): $2500 total

  • Top Pay: Top-performing drivers can earn over $1500 per week.

  • Routes will pay Whichever is greater – Mileage pay or Minimum Mileage Band Pay

  • Bonus eligibility requirements:

    • U.S. Xpress reserves the right to modify or cancel the Sign-On or Performance Bonus at any time with appropriate notice under applicable law.

    • Nothing in this Sign-On or Performance Bonus changes the at-will nature of your employment, meaning you and U.S. Xpress may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause.

    • You must be an active company driver on the day the bonus is paid.
