Job Description
Job Title: Class A Vac Truck / Hydro Excavation Operator
Position Summary: Arrow Construction is an Underground Utility Contractor specializing in wet and dry utilities, directional drilling, potholing, patch paving, and concrete restoration work throughout Northern California. We are looking for a Class A Vac Truck Excavator Operator who is responsible for safely operating hydro excavation and vacuum truck equipment to expose underground utilities and perform trenching support. This position requires a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work in various weather and field conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate vacuum excavation trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform hydro excavation around underground utilities without causing damage.
- Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, DOT records, and job documentation.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate with supervisors, crew members, and customers on site.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating vac trucks and hydro excavation equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of underground utility safety practices.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Construction or excavation background.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
