This position is responsible for welding waste heat recovery equipment, boilers, and pressure vessels built to ASME Code using multiple welding processes and materials.Candidates must have at least 5 years of manufacturing welding experience with strong Flux Core (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW) skills. TIG (GTAW) and Submerged Arc (SAW) experience are highly valuable.This is a quality-intensive welding position where completed welds must meet applicable ASME, company, and customer requirements and successfully pass X-ray and other required non-destructive testing.Required Experience & Skills• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing welding experience• Strong Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience• Strong Stick (SMAW) welding experience• Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions• Experience welding heavy fabricated components• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings• Ability to follow welding procedures and specifications• Experience using carbon arc gouging equipment• Experience using cutting torches• Ability to produce welds capable of passing required NDT inspections• Ability to successfully complete required weld tests• Strong attention to weld quality and workmanship• Ability to work Friday and Saturday overtime when required• Strong commitment to welding and shop safetyEssential Duties & Responsibilities• Weld waste heat recovery equipment according to applicable requirements• Weld pressure vessels built to ASME Code• Perform welding on firetube boiler components• Perform welding on watertube boiler components• Fabricate and weld steam drums• Work on economizers and superheaters• Perform FCAW welding• Perform SMAW welding• Perform GTAW welding when required• Perform SAW welding according to experience and assignment• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions• Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings• Follow applicable welding procedures• Prepare joints and materials for welding• Use carbon arc gouging equipment• Operate cutting torches• Inspect completed work for visible quality concerns• Complete repairs when required• Maintain clean and organized work areas• Assist with additional shop labor duties as needed• Follow all company safety, quality, and production proceduresWeld Test RequirementsCandidates must successfully complete required hands-on weld testing.6G Pipe Test• 6-inch Schedule 80 Pipe• 6G Position• GTAW (TIG) Stringer / Root• GTAW Hot Pass• SMAW (Stick) Fill & Cap3G Plate Test• 1/2-inch Plate• 3G Position• FCAW (Flux Core)Candidates should arrive prepared to demonstrate production-level welding ability and consistent workmanship.Welding ProcessesCandidates may work with:• FCAW – Flux Cored Arc Welding• SMAW – Shielded Metal Arc Welding / Stick• GTAW – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / TIG• SAW – Submerged Arc WeldingStrong FCAW and SMAW experience is required.
