Clerk- Health Information Management (HIM)Position SummarySouth County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Clerk- Health Information Management (HIM) to support the maintenance, organization, and processing of medical records. This position is responsible for ensuring records are complete, accurate, confidential, and accessible to authorized personnel while supporting daily administrative and filing operations within the Health Information Management department.About UsSouth County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral healthcare provider serving Southeast Palm Beach County. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community.Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Filing or clerical experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Minimum six (6) months of medical records or filing experience
- Experience working in healthcare or behavioral health settings
- Familiarity with numerical and color-coded filing systems
- Pull charts for authorized personnel including medical providers, nursing staff, and laboratories
- File charts and medical records in the main filing system
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations
- Prepare records and charts for the following business day
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards
- Investigate incidents, track trends, and implement corrective actions
- Oversee risk management processes and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements

- File charts and medical records in the main filing system
- Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for daily operations
- Prepare records and charts for the following business day
