Client Finance Director
Department: Revenue Cycle / Client Services
Position Overview
The Client Finance Director plays a vital, client-facing role at the intersection of finance, insurance, and compassionate care. Serving as the primary financial liaison for clients across in-network and out-of-network behavioral health treatment centers, this leader ensures clarity, trust, and accountability throughout the financial journey.
This role requires a thoughtful balance of financial expertise, emotional intelligence, and operational leadership, supporting clients through complex insurance matters while driving strong revenue cycle outcomes.
What You'll Do
Client Financial Advocacy
Explain financial responsibility, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, self-pay, and out-of-network reimbursement expectations
Review estimates, statements, EOBs, and balances with empathy and transparency
Serve as a trusted point of contact for client financial questions
Collections & Payment Solutions
Proactively follow up on outstanding balances via phone, email, and secure messaging
Establish, document, and manage payment plans in accordance with company policy
Escalate unresolved balances or disputes when appropriate
Insurance Analysis & Navigation
Analyze insurance benefits, EOBs, denials, and reimbursement determinations
Guide clients through payer decisions and reimbursement timelines
Partner with billing teams on discrepancies, appeals, and resolutions
Identify recurring insurance trends and communicate insights to leadership
Billing & Revenue Cycle Support
Post payments, adjustments, and client transactions accurately
Reconcile balances between billing and accounting systems
Utilize QuickBooks, CollaborateMD, and proprietary billing platforms
Support revenue cycle workflows across multiple treatment programs
Compliance & Accuracy
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Ensure billing accuracy and timely issue resolution
Follow all internal financial and revenue cycle policies
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle, or client financial services
Healthcare or behavioral health experience preferred
Experience managing or leading a small team
Strong understanding of complex insurance scenarios
Skilled in sensitive client collections conversations
Excellent attention to detail and documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with both in-network and out-of-network billing
Familiarity with authorizations, appeals, and payer-specific rules
Advanced Excel or reporting skills
