Position Overview
Responsible for providing a safe, fun, educational and engaging canopy tour/climbing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line supervision and instructions of climbing and rappelling activities.
- Become familiar with the proper gear supplied prior to the camping season
- Become thoroughly familiar with all information related to the climbing and rappelling facilities
- Participate in the specialized program training during the staff training period.
- Continuing on-the-job training throughout the season
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Must be able to complete Guide Training and assessment (provided)
- Preferred: Experience guiding/facilitating and managing others
- Body weight between 50-250 as per the manufacture's requirement for participation
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
