JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist treats a variety of diagnoses with a high degree of professional and medical competency to ensure quality patient care. Assesses, prescribes, and implements exercise therapy for the cardiac patients. Assists with developing positive lifestyle habits for Cardiac Rehab patients. Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of a plan of care. Educates patients on a variety of health related topics. Follows the teaching plan based upon identified learning, cultural, and psychosocial needs. Leads strength training and balance classes. Monitors each patient's heart function from our EKG monitoring system and documents patient data in their chart. Completes patient medical charts and monthly reporting in compliance with Medicare and JACHO standards. Finalizes patient discharge documentation once the patient completes the Cardiac Rehab program. Works closely with covering physicians. Is responsible for helping out other areas of the department and other duties as assigned. First responder for emergency situations in Cardiac Rehab and the Bradley Wellness Center. Competent with the use of an AED and portable oxygen.
