Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinic Nurse Supervisor assists the Clinic Services Director in providing leadership within the clinic and is responsible for assuring smooth day-to-day clinic operations and the optimal patient experience. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of nursing practice, staff recruitment and retention, nurse staffing, quality improvement, staff education, and medical records documentation. Approximately 80% of their time is spent on clinic workflow and clinical staffing, the remaining 20% on quality improvement projects, program development, etc.

  • $42.66/hr + DOE
  • $4.00/hr Supervisor Differential

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports and models behaviors consistent with Livingston HealthCare’s Standards of Excellence.
  2. Provides leadership and motivation in Clinic Department to Nurse and Medical Assistant colleagues, optimize clinic workflow and satisfaction for patients, physicians, and nursing staff.
  3. Supports the Clinic Services Director with clinical expertise and advice by providing input into the maintenance and development of guidelines, procedures, and policies
  4. Works with fellow Clinic Nurse Supervisors to facilitate Nursing and Medical Assistant staff meetings, orientation/trainings, and other educational opportunities to assure best-practices are being utilized throughout the clinic. Plans for and anticipates changes and subsequent adaptations.
  5. Responsibility and oversight for Clinic Nurse and Medical Assistant work schedule in specific department. Manages and maintains complete Clinic schedule as a coordinator group.
  6. Maintains and orders Clinic equipment and supplies for specific department (ie, IM, FM, etc..) and thus for the Clinic as a whole. Consults with Clinic Services Director for large equipment requests to assure budgetary standards are met.
  7. Participates in the yearly employee evaluation process, gathering input from other staff and providers. Coordinates evaluation team for timely and accurate evaluation process. Real time daily feedback to Nursing and Medical Assistant staff throughout Clinic operations.
  8. Develops proficient working knowledge of Cerner and assists in training clinic staff assuring consistency, compliance, and evolution of new work flows within the EHR.
  9. Maintains and displays an appropriate degree of clinical expertise. Acts as a resource for providers, other medical staff, patients and families.
  10. Bases decisions and actions on ethical principles and fosters a non-discriminatory, positive climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to socio-cultural diversity.
  11. Onboard, train, and develop fully capable medical assistants for the outpatient Clinic.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department and organization.
  13. Liaison to coding staff to optimize revenue capture through Clinic workflow.
  14. Coordinate and contribute to the Clinic Services Committee agenda and action items. Attend the meeting when possible.
  15. Understand and optimize CGHAPS scores for the clinic
  16. Complete Time Cards for “Pod” assigned Clinic Employees.
  17. Oversees supervision of clinical personnel, which includes work allocation, training, discipline, and problem resolution. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  18. Supervises direct clinic nursing care and assessment ensuring quality control of nursing area of operations.
  19. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.
  20. Responsible for call per clinic policy

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  1. Current and active in good standing Montana State Registered Nurse License
  2. BLS certification
  3. Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical nurse setting
  4. Demonstrated successful leadership experience

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s in Nursing Degree
