Status: Full-time (hourly, non-exempt), 40 hours per week.Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday. Work outside of these hours may be required.

Summary/Objective: The Clinical Administrative Associate III’s primary responsibility is supporting billing operations, healthcare insurance eligibility verification, and authorization processes. This role ensures accurate, timely reimbursement by managing payer requirements, coordinating authorizations, and supporting palliative care billing. Additionally, the position provides administrative support across clinical operations.
Essential Functions: 
Billing, Insurance Eligibility & Authorizations
  • Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services
  • Obtains, tracks, and follows up on prior authorizations for hospice, home health, palliative care, and related services
  • Ensures services are authorized and compliant with payer requirements before billing
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of eligibility verification and authorization approvals/denials
  • Communicates with insurance payers to resolve eligibility, coverage, and authorization issues
  • Collaborates with intake, clinical teams, and billing staff to prevent delays in care and reimbursement
  • Monitors authorization timelines and ensures re-authorizations are obtained when required
Billing
  • Supports billing processes for palliative care services, ensuring accurate charge capture and coding
  • Reviews clinical documentation to ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
  • Assists with claim submission, tracking, and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Identifies and helps resolve billing discrepancies to improve reimbursement accuracy
  • Maintains working knowledge of payer-specific billing guidelines for palliative care
  • Provides back-up support for Hospice and Home Health billing functions 
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Provides general administrative support for Clinical Ops Director and Clinical Supervisors
  • Serves as department resource for troubleshooting, operational assistance, and clinical staff support
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • Strong knowledge or experience in healthcare billing, insurance eligibility, and authorization processes preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a clinical setting, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders and partners across functional departments
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to develop a broad knowledge base in healthcare regulations, billing, and payer requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to pass a background test and drug screen. 
  • Compassion, empathy, and dedication to patient care
  • Prior experience in hospice, home health, or palliative care operations preferred
Physical Requirements:  
  • Standing and walking, keyboard operation, use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.
  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of up to 20 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting for extended periods of time, standing, bending, and twisting to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to perform the job safely.
Working Environment: 
Category 3 ― Position includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues; would not be required to perform Category I tasks.
