Job Description
SUMMARY:
Ensures consistent high-quality performance of the Pharmacy Operations team, Endocrine Division. This position is responsible for the oversight of both clinical and non-clinical functions. It will serve as a subject matter expert on deliverables ensuring optimal efficiency in areas of responsibility
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position can perform all duties of the clinical pharmacy specialist as well as:
Oversight of the day-to-day operations of department processes and staff, inclusive of work distribution, evaluation of productivity, tracking and monitoring of outcomes, and frequent communication of effective feedback. This includes providing decision support to Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students, pharmacy intern, and pharmacy technician staff within the Endocrine Division.
Oversight of the Endocrine Division’s APPE rotations with the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
Development, execution, and evaluation of work plans for areas of responsibility
Oversight of development and maintenance of pharmacist-led quality initiatives for the Endocrine Division
Oversight of, adherence to, and modification of pharmacy related policy and procedures, processes, workflows
Collaboration with the electronic medical record (EMR) team to educate prescribers on safe and efficient use of the medical record and the order entry process
Coordination of regular communication to prescribing staff of pharmacy related issues
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
College graduate with a PharmD degree
Post graduate training, such as residency or fellowship, is preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license in good standing required
EXPERIENCE:
Five to ten years of experience in a management level position
Ten or more years of experience in the field of pharmacy, adult medicine out-patient practice setting/public health preferred
Experience with EPIC and/or eClinical Works preferred
Strong management and leadership capabilities
Exemplary relationship management with staff and patients
Direct experience in working with prescribers for therapy decisions
Ability to create systems and improve processes, including electronic medical records
Ability to think and act strategically and with flexibility to aid in the creation of novel approaches to health care delivery
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a health care team
Highly organized, able to assess and differentiate priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual (Spanish) language preferred
Proficiency with computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, and Web-based applications)

Pay Range:
