Job Description
The Clinical Cardiac Testing Exercise Physiologist performs cardiac testing procedures (both inpatient and outpatient) in the Franciscan Health Network. - Conduct pre-test screening and assessment of vitals (heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure and symptoms), with thorough chart review to gather relevant medical history.
- Start IV's and administer medication intravenously under physician direction.
- Adhere to nuclear medicine safety measures throughout nuclear cardiac procedures.
- Interpret 12 lead EKGs; recognize changes in routine wave forms, artifact, as well as critical conditions, such as segment elevation/depression, infarct patterns, and life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Perform standard resting electrocardiograms, and apply holter and cardiac event monitoring systems; instruct patients on monitoring and ensure follow-up with the physician.
- Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding abnormal finding and patient progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
- Required 1 year Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation
- Required within 180 days from hire Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Required within 180 days from hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Preferred Master's Degree
