Job Description

The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking qualified applicants for part-time, non-tenure stream clinical faculty in the following areas:

  • Community Health Nursing
  • Medical/Surgical Nursing
  • Obstetric Nursing
  • Pediatric Nursing
  • Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing

Minimum Qualifications:

Instructor of Practice* must have a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Clinical Instructor must have a graduate degree in nursing.

Candidates at all faculty ranks must:

  • Show evidence of or potential for excellence in clinical and/or classroom teaching and contributing to a learning environment that values evidence-based practice;
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the indicated areas of community health, medical/surgical, obstetric, pediatric, or psychiatric/mental health nursing;
  • Hold an unencumbered RN license in Pennsylvania or compact state.
  • If the incumbent has not earned a graduate degree in nursing, the incumbent is required to complete a graduate degree in nursing within five years of the date of hire.

Desired Qualifications: Prior experience in clinical education and/or scholarship is preferred but not required.
