Job Description

Position Summary: 

The Clinical Project Manager is responsible for leading and supporting business leads through projects from the initial phase of defining requirements through full deployment by identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Proactively assumes a leadership role to create a shared vision, align on clarity of purpose, influence and motivate stakeholders, and sustain a sense of urgency to deliver maximum value. Collaborates effectively with the business lead to assure the success of the project and functions as a mentor in technical project management to lend to organizational competence with successful change management.  Ensures the currency, quality, and integrity of information and provides senior project manager(s) with consistent, timely communication of project status using the enterprise process and designated tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, project management, Healthcare Management, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Two to four years of technical project management experience.
  • Obtain project manager certification within two (2) years of hire.
  • Preferred: Experience driving major change efforts through a health system and within a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Job Functions: In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Provides leadership for and is accountable for the successful completion and results of projects that have significant impacts on the health system.
  • Develops project charter to clarify objectives, scope, benefits, and deliverables and to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available business segment resources to various phases of the project.
  • Develops and manages detailed project plans to ensure that it is completed in scope, on time, and within budget and meet business requirements, as well as develops, manages, and tracks budgets to project completion.
  • Leads the effort in problem analysis, creative approaches to problem-solving, and quality deliverables supporting business needs. Drives resolution, conducts presentations, and facilitates groups of all stakeholders.
  • Acts as the primary interface to the business lead for all aspects of the assigned project and communicates to the Business Lead using standard reporting formats, milestones, and metrics, and produces accurate and timely status reports.  Communicates at the appropriate level to each stakeholder.
  • Ensures potential changes to scope are clearly identified, communicated, evaluated, resolved, and documented using standard procedures.
  • Confers with senior project manager to provide technical advice and to manage identification and problem resolution. 
  • Contributes to the overall change management process by supporting overall project portfolio visibility and reporting.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Lift 30 pounds of weight (pick up supplies, move equipment, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies.
  • Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
  • Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
  • Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or employees.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.

Tasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:

  • bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
  • radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed.
  • various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.
  • infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
