Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Psychologist Mental Health (Overage & On-Call)
Location: Mike O'Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC), Nellis AFB, NV, 89191
No. of FTEs Required: 1 FTEWork Schedule: Monday Friday 0730 1630 or compressed schedule Monday Thursday 0730 1830, including rotating on-call coverage requirements ranging from 600 1380 hours annually and overage support requirements ranging from 15 50 hours annually. Contract workers may be required to report in person to the MTF during urgent situations and holiday on-call periods.
Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program or a program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force.
Completion of an APA-accredited internship/residency in professional psychology or equivalent program acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist following completion of a PsyD or PhD program.
Experience providing behavioral health and mental health services in a clinical setting.
License/Certification:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist in a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral information sources.
Diagnose psychiatric disorders in accordance with the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
Provide outpatient behavioral health treatment utilizing evidence-based psychotherapy modalities.
Determine appropriate treatment settings and coordinate inpatient psychiatric admissions when necessary.
Conduct crisis intervention and urgent behavioral health assessments.
Provide psychiatric consultation and treatment recommendations to healthcare providers and military leadership.
Evaluate military personnel for fitness for duty, security clearance, special duty, and personnel reliability determinations.
Prepare behavioral health assessments and documentation supporting Medical Evaluation Boards and TDRL evaluations.
Participate as a member of multidisciplinary mental health treatment teams.
Respond to consultation requests within required clinical timelines.
Maintain accurate and timely behavioral health documentation in approved electronic medical record systems.
Participate in program development, process improvement, and behavioral health outcome initiatives.
Conduct professional training activities for staff, interns, students, and residents when required.
Maintain compliance with APA ethical standards, MTF privileges, patient safety standards, and medical staff bylaws.
Provide after-hours on-call behavioral health support and respond in person to urgent patient care situations when required.
