Job Summary

Position Description: As a key member of the event service team, the Barback/Runner plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across bar and food service areas. This dual-function position supports bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff by maintaining stock levels, transporting products, and upholding cleanliness and presentation standards throughout events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep all bar and service areas stocked with essential items such as liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, plates, utensils, napkins, and ice.
• Monitor inventory levels during service and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Transport beverages, food orders, and specialty items to appropriate locations quickly and accurately.
• Maintain clean and organized bar and service areas, including regular removal of trash and recyclables.
• Ensure all items delivered meet department standards for presentation and accuracy.
• Assist with post-event breakdown including organizing equipment and resetting spaces for future use.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of all transport equipment (e.g., carts).
• Record and report inventory counts, particularly for liquor and key bar items.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with bartenders, servers, and supervisors to anticipate and meet service needs.
• Operate with urgency and efficiency in fast-paced, high-volume event environments while maintaining a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team to provide outstanding service to guests and ensure seamless event execution.
