CNC Fabrication & Design Specialist – Advanced Manufacturing | Now HiringLocation: Reidsville, NCEmployment Type: Full-TimeDepartment: Fabrication / EngineeringIndustry: CNC Machining, Fabrication, Manufacturing We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Fabrication & Design Specialist who will lead machining and fabrication efforts to deliver precise, high-quality products for BETA customers. This role blends SolidWorks CAD design, CNC programming, machine operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination. As a technical expert, the Specialist ensures that fabrication equipment runs efficiently, safely, and reliably while supporting product innovation and continuous improvement.Job Purpose The CNC Fabrication & Design Specialist is responsible for designing manufacturable components, programming and operating CNC and fabrication equipment, developing tooling and fixtures, and supporting equipment maintenance. This role resolves production issues, improves processes, and serves as a mentor and technical resource across the machining and fabrication teams.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign & CAD Engineering
  • Create and modify 3D models and detailed technical drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Translate customer and engineering requirements into manufacturable parts.
  • Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and product development.
  • Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Jobscope or similar systems.
CNC Programming & Machine Operations
  • Program, set up, and verify parts for waterjet, plasma, brake press, CNC lathe, robotic welder, and other fabrication machinery.
  • Develop accurate, efficient CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.).
  • Lead the development, fabrication, and assembly of tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Operate, optimize, and troubleshoot machines to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Maintenance & Technical Coordination
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty equipment; recommend repairs or coordinate vendor support.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Develop SOPs, best-practice documentation, and training plans for machining and fabrication equipment.
  • Train and mentor machine operators on safe, efficient equipment use.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality Control, Fabrication, and Assembly teams to meet technical specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, tooling, materials, or workflows to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Support special engineering projects and assist teammates as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3–5 years of machining and CNC programming experience required.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
  • Skilled with CNC and fabrication equipment including waterjet, plasma, brake press, CNC lathe, and robotic welding systems.
  • Familiar with job tracking, BOM management, and manufacturing systems (Jobscope preferred).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and computer literacy.
