Job Description
CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator - 2nd ShiftLocation: Owasso, OKSchedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 PM - 2:30 AMOvertime Available on FridaysPay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour DOE + $2.00 Shift Differential
HireCall is currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator for a premier precision manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled machinist who can independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Mazak CNC lathes in a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
CNC Machine Setup & Operation
- Independently set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes including QT, Nexus, Integrex, and similar models
- Load raw materials and configure tooling, offsets, fixtures, and workholding
- Verify machine setup accuracy before production begins
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure efficiency and quality
- Maintain production schedules while meeting quality standards
Programming & Technical Interpretation
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications
- Edit Mazatrol conversational programs and/or G-code programs at the machine
- Adjust tooling paths, feeds, and speeds to optimize machining performance
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
Quality Control & Inspection
- Perform in-process and final inspections using:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Dial Indicators
- Gauges
- Verify all finished parts meet dimensional and quality specifications
- Maintain compliance with company quality standards and procedures
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning
- Troubleshoot machine alarms, tooling issues, and production concerns
- Conduct basic machine diagnostics to minimize downtime
Documentation & Safety
- Complete production reports, inspection records, and machine logs accurately
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Qualifications
- 2-5+ years of experience operating and setting up Mazak CNC lathes
- Experience with Mazatrol conversational programming and/or G-code editing
- Strong setup experience including tooling, fixtures, and part setup
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
- Knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and machining practices
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-axis and live-tooling Mazak machines
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 manufacturing environments
- Forklift experience or certification
- Experience with SPC tracking and ERP systems
- Technical school or vocational machining training
