Come build the future with us.Interstate Advanced Materials is seeking a full-time CNC Machine Operator at our Des Moines, Iowa facility. At Interstate Advanced Materials, we support the professional growth of our employees while providing exceptional service to our customers. We are a wholesale distributor and fabricator of high-performance plastic sheet, rod, tube, and film serving industries such as aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, food processing, automotive, agriculture, and more.

Summary:This role requires strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a positive, team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, precise cuts and is committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and work well within a team environment

  • Setup and operate CNC saws to cut materials according to job specs

  • Read and interpret work orders, cut lists, and blueprints

  • Measure and verify materials before and after cutting

  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Assist with material handling and staging as needed

  • Use measuring tools to inspect parts and ensure product accuracy

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Prior experience operating CNC saws or similar machinery

  • Experience with hand tools, routers, and general warehouse equipment

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings

  • Confident in using measuring tools such as tape & calipers

  • Good communication skills and a team-player mindset

  • Strong basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

  • Forklift experience
