Opportunity Overview

We are looking for a junior CNC machinist to integrate with our machine shop and mechanical engineering design teams, as well as learn from our senior machinists. This is a small job shop that functions as part of our mechanical design team, producing parts for design verification and supporting design activity. Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to operate a manual lathe, including work holding, kitting of tools, reading and understanding of mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to operate a CNC 3-axis mill, including work holding, kitting of tools, establishing offsets, reading and understanding of mechanical drawings.
  • Operate, set up and modify programs on the machines and from an external workstation
  • Inspect parts during production to monitor dimensional and visual quality.
  • Communicate and provide feedback to our mechanical engineering design teams regarding manufacturing processes, best practices, and design improvements with respect to manufacturability.
  • Must be able to read engineering prints
  • Ability to measure parts using micrometer, caliper, height gauge, etc.

  • High school or vocational school diploma or equivalent job experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with both manual and CNC mills and lathes.
  • Initiative-taking, accountable individual with strong commitment to meeting personal and team goals as well as professional development.
  • Versatile interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong organizational and written / verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and ERP programs a plus.
  • Some understanding of the development process of electro-mechanical products

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $104,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
