Job Description

CNC Operator

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator/Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with strong machining experience who can independently set up and operate CNC equipment while producing high-quality precision components. Candidates should be comfortable working from blueprints, maintaining tight tolerances, and contributing to a safe, team-oriented production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills to manufacture precision machined parts.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

  • Edit machine programs, speeds, and feeds as needed to optimize production.

  • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.

  • Maintain close tolerances of ±0.001 " or better while ensuring product quality.

  • Perform machine setup changes for a variety of part configurations and production runs.

  • Operate secondary equipment such as drill presses, saws, tapping machines, and punch presses.

  • Deburr, clean, and inspect finished parts.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate production concerns to supervision.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

  • Assist with training less experienced machinists when needed.

  • Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or mills.

  • Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming.

  • Ability to read blueprints and accurately interpret dimensions and tolerances.

  • Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface.

  • Ability to make minor program edits at the machine.

  • Experience operating manual machining equipment is a plus.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently while meeting production goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Technical school or machining certification preferred but not required.
