Job Description
Location: Farmingdale, NYCompany: Superior Motion Controls
Position Summary:Superior Motion Controls is seeking individuals who want to join our precision-driven manufacturing team as CNC Operator and Machinist-in-Training. 40+ hours per week
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with experienced Set up Machinists and operate various CNC machining centers to produce precision components per engineering specifications and drawings.
- On the job training to enhance skills for reading and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T specifications, and setup sheets.
- Learn to perform in-process inspections and finished parts inspections.
- Learn to select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds to optimize productivity and part quality.
- Learn and execute routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Maintain documentation and records for production runs, tool usage, and machine setup parameters.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to improve machining processes and resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment, with demonstrated experience in operating.
- Experience in the use of precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Understanding of material properties (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel) and cutting tool technology.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while consistently delivering high-quality results.
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC control platforms preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand at a machining workstation for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Must be physically able to navigate the warehouse and access inventory at various heights.
