Performance Polymers is a world leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of structural and semi-structural adhesives, grouting and chocking compounds, sprayable syntactic materials and wear-resistant coatings and repair compounds.

Role Overview:

ITW Performance Polymers is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to work with the Engineering team at our Danvers, Massachusetts facility. The Engineering Co-Op will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in our manufacturing processes. In addition, the Co-Op will lead a capstone initiative focused on identifying process improvement opportunities and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to impactful projects within a division of a market-leading Fortune 300 organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both existing and newly implemented manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Support equipment modifications and upgrades to improve performance and reliability.
  • Identify equipment needs, research and select vendors, request capital, and complete documents required for purchase.
  • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to produce KPI's to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
  • Performs various other duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; desire to work in a "hands-on" environment
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to assess the feasibility of engineering designs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Compensation Information:

"The target compensation for this role is $24.00 to $29.00/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future."
