Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for the development, supervision, measurement, oversight, and coordination of the Chafee program.

This position demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the agency by engaging in respectful, cooperative relationships with customers (i.e., clients, employees, and external stakeholders); being accountable for providing services and ensuring safety to customers while empowering customers in achieving the agency's mission.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff, volunteers, and interns as applicable; establish and monitor performance expectations to ensure staff accountability for meeting client/program/agency goals.
  • Coordinate, evaluate, and monitor the quality of the Chafee program to ensure effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards and funder requirements.
  • Accept referrals from the Children's Division and assign to Case Manager caseloads.
  • Record and manage data, outcome measurement, and other significant information in ETO and other funder-required database systems to show the effectiveness of the Chafee program.
  • Review staff billing to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and direction for the day-to-day operations of the Chafee Program.
  • Conduct training sessions and facilitate presentations for agency staff and in the community.
  • Attend meetings and partner in the community to build relationships and partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of programs in the St Louis area for resources for Youth.
  • Complete all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports per agency and funder requirements.
  • Assist with department budget development and fiscal monitoring.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance to ensure staff are held accountable for client/program/departmental goals and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Chafee Case Manager 2 and Chafee Case Managers

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in social work, education, drug and alcohol education, counseling, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice.

Minimum of three years of experience working with youth.

2 years of supervisory experience

Must have knowledge of treatment for at-risk and foster youth.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Manage and role model agency rules, policies, and procedures, including attendance, program/department-specific procedures, workplace safety, training requirements, code of conduct, social media, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and treatment plans.
  • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. A
  • Ability to effectively speak before groups of clients, employees, and or managers of the agency.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions. Strong ability to lead, organize and plan.
  • Computer Skills: Email, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel
  • Able to perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Work is performed at the Drop-In center and in the community. Some evenings and weekends are required to meet programming needs.
