Job Description
Position Summary
Serves as liaison between College and the citizens of the area served. Coordinates higher education programs delivered within the area communities. Performs all functions and activities within the guidelines and philosophy set forth in the BMCC Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
Essential Functions
Provides leadership and vision for the delivery of higher education services within the county.
Works with local advisory board to analyze the learning needs of the area served by surveying citizens, speaking with groups and otherwise listening to the requests made for education services. Based on collected data, coordinator will work with the Office of Instruction to create a multi-year plan.
Plans and implements a quarterly class schedule, including, but not limited to selecting classes to offer, recommending faculty, obtaining classroom space and creating a schedule in conjunction with the Office of Instruction.
Ensures appropriate information and materials such as class schedules, book orders, College procedures and any relevant handbooks/manuals are provided to appropriate employees, students and the Advisory Board as needed and in a timely manner.
Coordinates student registration, advising, and support services with Student and Enrollment Services on the Pendleton campus; monitors enrollment and determines class status.
Prepares and recommends operating budget following BMCC budget procedures; authorizes and monitors expenditures.
Following BMCC procedures, oversees and facilitates the recruitment, orientation, and evaluation of instructional staff and part-time faculty in conjunction with the Office of Instruction.
Oversees and ensures the proper collection of tuition and fees for classes offered. Ensures those funds are transmitted to the Pendleton campus business office in an accurate, secure, and timely manner in accordance to BMCC procedure.
Observes College procedures, processes and deadlines; Board policies, and state administrative and legislative rules.
Markets educational program through coordination of news releases with the local media and in partnership with the Marketing and Communications office in Pendleton, using its procedures and guidelines.
Maintain sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
Perform other duties as necessary to fulfill needs of position.
Other Aspects of the Position
Meet with community partners and attend meetings/trainings as needed, valid driver's license required.
Requires evening and weekend hours and a flexible schedule.
Continued existence is dependent upon special program funding.
