Description

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Coder position. This position is not remote and is located at our Kaysville Business Office.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining coding compliance for multi-specialty clinic.
• Audit procedure and diagnostic codes for accuracy, detail and comprehensive description of clinical procedures
• Responsible for maintaining current ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT and coding skills
• Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail
• Ability to interpret and apply Medicare (CCI) and payer edits
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education:

• High School diploma required
• Certified Professional Coder is required

Experience:

• Coding experience preferred

Other Requirements:

• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology
• Must have strong knowledge of computer and other office equipment

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures
• Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies

Skills:

• Proficient skills in computer programs

Abilities:

• Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret medical charts
• Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with others

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
