Join our team at Brain Balance of Wexford in a job that lets you work with kids and spend your day doing life changing work. As a Cognitive Behavior Coach, you will help kids who struggle with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. This position requires a motivated and passionate individual who will guide and assist children through various sensory and motor activities which stimulate the brain.

At Brain Balance, we pick up where conventional approaches leave off, by addressing the root cause and going beyond the treatment of symptoms. Pay starting at $17.00 per hour and up for experience!

Responsibilities

Backed by the support and supervision of our awesome staff, you would:

  • Work with kids (4-18 years old) with social, emotional, academic and behavioral struggles and/or with formal diagnoses such as  Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, ODD, Dyslexia, Learning and Processing Disorders.
  • Work part-time hours Monday, Wednesday, Friday between the times of 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. 
  • Gain training and skills to support a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, counseling, kinesthesiology, mental health, and parenting.
  • Create lasting, positive change for children and their families.

Qualifications

Do you have what it takes? Although we don’t require specific experience, we do look for certain characteristics, including:

  • A genuine desire to help children and their families achieve goals. 
  • A steady supply of empathy, compassion, enthusiasm, patience, kindness, and reliability. 
  • Strong curiosity and a desire to learn about why children struggle.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 (on or before the first day of employment).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule: 
  • The ability to pass a background check, criminal check, and child abuse clearance
  • Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License

Not to mention, it is a plus if you:

  • Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, child care, behavioral health, health science, or a related field.
  • Have experience working with children, whether as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or some other form of childcare.
